ABOUT DANA

Dana Fonte Myofascial Release Therapist

Dana Fonté received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of California at Davis in 1988. She graduated from Heartwood Institute in 1997 after completing the Advanced Massage Therapy Program. Earlier in her career as a Massage Therapist her practice focused on Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage. She studied Clinical Sports Massage with Benny Vaughn, LMT, Advanced Deep Tissue Massage with Art Riggs, LMT and British Sports Therapy with Stuart Taws, LMT.

In 2001 the focus of her practice shifted when she began studying Myofascial Release with John F. Barnes, PT. She fully embraced this deeply effective way of working with the connective tissue and has never looked back. She incorporates craniosacral techniques into her practice as taught by John F. Barnes, and studying Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute has enhanced her understanding of this system. She has trained directly with John F. Barnes, and has worked alongside his team of therapists at his treatment center in Sedona, AZ enhancing her skills. She continues her studies with John F. Barnes, and in other disciplines that facilitate change, to explore her own growth and development.

Since 2010 she has been studying and practicing a system of Qigong called Yuan Gong taught by Yuan Tze. This practice influences her work and life in beneficial ways.
